Christmas 2020 + Taking A Break From Blogging + 200 Followers + Happy 2021!

Hey everyone! Welcome to the last week of 2020 and to the last post of 2020 on Dose of Wonani. *fireworks and cheering* This is a very long title but I was trying to fit everything into this one post so deal with it, respectfully. lol.

Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of you! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas festivities, spent time with family if you could and just had fun.

I really enjoyed reading people’s blogmas posts this December. I didn’t know it was possible to have so much Christmas related content. Hats off to all the bloggers who took part in blogmas this year. Also, seeing/reading about how you spent Christmas brought me so much joy. Looking at videos of kids opening their gifts? My heart was exploding.

I am looking forward to wearing matching pyjamas and taking christmas pictures in the future but for now, I was living through everyone who did. So thank you for sharing all your pictures. LOL.

Christmas this year was understandably very different. Different from past years but I enjoyed it still. I had a meal with a couple of friends which was so good. Also, I hadn’t spent so much time outside the house in a long time so the air felt good.

This is the 4th Christmas I’ve spent without my family and I’m starting to forget what that feels like. I make it a point not to call home or really call anyone during that time just so people can enjoy each other.

And to all those who hate Christmas for whatever reason, those who couldn’t wait for it to end, it’s over now. Hopefully you don’t have to see anything Christmas related after this. (I’m sorry).

I’m so awkward but here is a picture of my friend (left) and I (right) on Christmas.

Blogging Break

The number of times I asked myself why I’m blogging or why I even committed to this is too many to count. The times I STRUGGLED to come up with content and contemplated just quitting and finding something new to do have all come down to this. I don’t know why I ever thought this blogging things was easy. It isn’t. For me, when life gets hard, or school gets tough the thing that gets affected first is the blog. So, just trying to keep it afloat has taken so much but I’m here today. I always talk about how important breaks are and I think I’m ready for one now.

My blogging year only lasts 11 months. February to December. With that said, I will be taking a break from blogging for the month of January. Taking a little time off to breathe, prepare for my year, plan for the blog and to catch up and focus on school. I will still be reading blogs as usual, commenting on posts and replying to comments here. I just won’t be posting new content for a month. My next post after this will be on 1st February 2021. I hope you won’t miss me too much.

I decided to end this with some good news. About a week ago, I hit 200 followers on the blog, Dose of Wonani. I hoped to end the year with 200 followers but I’m ending it with slightly more than that which is crazy!!
Thank you for sticking with this girl and for hitting that follow button.

Thanks for all the likes, comments, shares and everything in between. It blows my mind every time that there are people who actually find me or what I do interesting and take time to read through my content. Thank you for everything and thank you for 200+ followers!
(The next target is 500 LOL)

Leave a comment and let me know what you would like me to write about or what you would like to see on the blog in 2021. Contact me via email: doseofwonani@gmail.com or Instagram: @wonxni_. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I’m wishing you all an amazing 2021. I hope the New Year comes with new joy, peace and hope. I hope it’s more than you expect it to be and I hope that it is happy. Wishing you all the success in 2021!

Thanks for reading! I will be back in February.
Happy 2021!
Love,
Wonani Xx

  2. Happy New Year Wonani 🥁🎉🤗. I hope that your year is coming along well by far. Like you mentioned, breaks are very necessary. Blogging is not easy but it is worth it. Creating content has its days but overall, it’s always a blessing to simply connect with other people and learn from them. I can’t wait for your grand entrance in February or whenever you come back. For me, this year I’m trying to be more intentional in not just writing posts but communicating more with my bloggers. I find that committing a particular day to read blogs are effective for me. The writing process doesn’t always come easy so giving myself that break to spend one or two days during the week to look for new bloggers and read posts has been helpful throughout this journey of blogging. Thank you for sharing 📝. Have a lovely day 🌻

    1. Happy New Year to you too Karen!
My year so far has been quite eventful. Still optimistic for the rest of it.

I agree with you! Being able to connect with other people (like you) is a blessing. I’m so happy you are being more intentional when it comes to communicating with other bloggers.
There is so much to learn from other people on this space. You’ll be surprised what people have to offer. And of course, reading posts from other bloggers is free inspiration too 😂
I hope that goes well for you and helps your journey because you have really good content!

I hope your year has started on a good note. I’ll be back sooner than you know it! 😉

  5. Congrats on the 200! Here’s to many more as time goes by.

I hope this downtime gives you the recharge you need, and here’s to coming back in February stronger than ever. Blogging is hard work indeed, and it’s a wonder that we even do what we do just out of our labour of love.

    Take care, Wonani!

  7. Happy New Year!
I hope your blogging break will help rejuvenate you, and that you will be able to find the reasons you once had for blogging.
Sometimes I write less than I normally would (example: last year), I understand. That’s OK.
However, I also know that the longer of a break you take, the harder it is to get back in. At least for me and many of my fellow bloggers.

    1. Happy New Year to you too!
I hope it will too. I need the energy. This is a much needed break and I do understand that it may be hard to get back in but I’ll do my best to make sure I do 😂
Also, it’s okay to not write as much or as often.

Thanks for the comment and for reading!
